The Standard
From source to finished product
Quality is rarely the result of one grand gesture. It is the consequence of many small decisions made properly.
We look first at source and form, then at specification, documentation and formulation. Only when each part can be justified does it belong in the finished product.
How we choose
-
SOURCE
We want to know where a material comes from, who makes it and why it belongs in the formula. If those answers are unclear, the material is not ready for us.
-
FORM
The name of a nutrient is only the beginning. We look at the form actually used, because form matters to how an ingredient is understood, specified and formulated.
-
SPECIFICATION
A label tells you how much. A specification tells us what the material actually is. Identity, purity and the relevant technical parameters must be clearly defined.
-
DOCUMENTATION
A claim is only as good as the record behind it. We expect specifications, certificates and relevant testing to be available before a material earns its place.
-
FORMULATION
Good ingredients can still make a poor formula. We consider dose, delivery, compatibility and the reason for every non medicinal ingredient.
-
FINISHED PRODUCT
The work is not complete when the formula is written. The finished product must reflect the standard set at the beginning, in identity, consistency and the information we are prepared to stand behind.
Evidence in practice
A standard matters only when it changes what we choose.
Vitamin K2 is one example. We selected K2VITAL® because its identity, all trans purity, stability and technical documentation can be clearly specified. The point is not the name of the ingredient. It is what can be demonstrated behind it.
What we disclose
Transparency should be useful, not theatrical. An ingredient list is the minimum. Where the information is meaningful and documented, we want you to know what the material is, where it comes from and why we chose it.
-
IDENTITY
The exact nutrient form and the branded ingredient, when one is used.
-
ORIGIN
The documented origin of a material when it can be established with confidence.
-
RATIONALE
The reason a particular ingredient, form or delivery system was selected.
The work behind the label
What appears on a label is only the final expression of the decisions that came before it.
